Don’t forget to fill The boot!! (Still to be confirmed)
As you prepare for the trip, we want to bring your attention to the current environment we will be riding in. The area is experiencing extremely dry conditions, and a total fire ban is in effect in the area. This means no outdoor burning any time of day or night. Bonfires, fireworks, torches and the lighting of charcoal barbecues, as well as any other light sources that use an open flame, are prohibited. Cooking fires are also prohibited. Accordingly, this means no cooking on the trails. Bring a packed lunch should you wish.

At the present time there is no ATV ban or trail closure in place in our jurisdiction. However, due to this environment, there are a few important safety measures we need everyone to follow:

* Carry a portable ABC fire extinguisher: We strongly recommend that every ATV carry a portable ABC fire extinguisher. This is a critical precautionary tool given the current conditions should a fire be sparked by machine malfunction, or other means.

* No smoking: Please refrain from smoking during the ride. If you must smoke, only do so safely, and ensure all smoking materials are completely extinguished and not discarded in the bush or on the trails. Carry a portable ash cup or container with water and carry your smoking material butts back with you off the trails.

* Prevent sparks: Be mindful of your ATV’s operation to prevent any sparks. Ensure your equipment is in good working order and check for any potential issues that could lead to a fire hazard.

Your cooperation is essential for a safe and enjoyable ride for everyone. By taking these precautions, we can help protect the forest, the community, be responsible stewards of the trails and ensure we have a great event.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at wccatvride@gmail.com

Thank you,
