Club Rentals

The Wilberforce Curling Club provides rentals for both ice time and the clubhouse. Rentals are not intended as a revenue stream for the club, rather it is intended to provide affordable access to the facility for the community.

The Wilberforce curling club reserves the right to refuse any rental requests.

Rentals can be initiated by curling club members or by non members by contacting us at wilberforcecurling@gmail.com

An electronic version of our rental agreement will be available here soon.

If the event is a non-member rental, a current club member is required, on site, for the duration of the event.

Curling club rental rules need to be followed (see attached rules document).

A rental agreement and liability waiver/s will be completed for each rental.

Liability/ Insurance Coverage – Signing of waivers required for all participants for Ice Rentals. Additional event insurance may be required if non member rental group is using the kitchen.

 

Club Rental Fee Structure

 

Rentals by Club Members (clubhouse or ice time) - Based upon a two (2) hour rental time.

Members fee = $0 Non-members accompanying club members (including family) = $15 person

Non-member Rentals that include the Ice

Standard 2-hour rental of ice - (includes 2 sheets)
$15/person - Minimum $120

Bonspiels

$120 both sheets per 2 hours with a minimum of 6 hours (3 x $120=$360)

Non member Rentals for Clubhouse only

$60 / 2 hour with a minimum of 2 hours. Note: this assumes kitchen is NOT being used.

Rentals by charitable organizations or schools:

Fees for charitable organizations or school groups will be handled on a case by case basis.

 

Rules For Ice Rentals

 

        1. Clean indoor shoes or proper curling shoes are required by all participants.
        2. Waiver of Liability is required for each participant.
        3. Curling equipment i.e. Grippers, brooms, push sticks and stabilizers are available to borrow for the rental.
        4. Please ensure that delivered stones do not come into contact with the hacks.
        5. Please do not rest knees or hands on the ice as it will melt.
        6. No running on the ice.
        7. Do not step over the curling rocks.
        8. For your safety it is suggested that “Head Gear” is worn throughout the rental.
        9. Please clean the broom with brush provided during and at the end of the game.
        10. If you need instruction on how to curl please ask the club member in attendance.
        11. If bar service is requested, all alcohol must be served by a club member with Smart Serve Certification.
