Assistant Curling Club Ice Technician Workshop

We look forward to welcoming you to the Ice Technician Assistant Course at the Wilberforce Curling Club, 2249 Loop Road, Wilberforce, Ontario. The course will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 and finish up around 5:00 p.m. All workshop materials will be housed on Curling Canada’s new E-learning website (https://learn.curling.ca). Registered participants should have or will be receiving an enrolment email regarding access to the E-learning website. Please check your spam folder if you do not find the email in your regular Inbox. Please log into the site to take a look around. From the Main page, under the Instructional Program Section – scroll to the right until you find the Assistant or Curling Ice Technician Program. You must log in within 7 days of receiving the enrolment email as the password will expire after 7 days. What to bring on October 28, 2023:
- Clean pair of shoes (running shoes will work);
- Warm clothes and gloves (a lot of the workshop will be spent on ice);
- Laptop computer or tablet to access workshop materials;
- Pen and notepad;
- A pebbling can and head if you have one. If not, don’t worry, there will be extras to borrow.
Lunch (Burgers), tea/coffee/water will be provided courtesy of the Wilberforce Curling Club. Be aware that restaurant options are very limited in the immediate area. Should you not wish a hamburger for lunch, please bring a packed lunch with you so we can keep to the schedule for the day,
As a final matter, if you experience any COVID symptoms or test positive for COVID before the course, please withdraw. You will be refunded your registration fee. Please reach out if you have any questions about anything other than the e-learning site.
